Eady Selected as Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Junior Brittney Eady of the Moravian College women's tennis team has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Eady picked up wins at both first singles and first doubles to help the Greyhounds top NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, 7-1, on Thursday to finish out the Hounds' fall portion of the 2015-16 schedule. Eady combined with junior Aisling Doyle for an 8-5 win at first doubles that gave Moravian a 2-1 lead, and Eady then posted a 6-0, 6-3 win at first singles to earn the match-clinching fifth team point for the Hounds.

"Brittney's play at number one set the tone for the team," commented Head Coach Alan Heverly. "Her great play in doubles sparked the team. Brittney led the whole way in her singles matches and her win sealed the match. Her positive attitude coming off the court in doubles and excellent play in singles kept the team positive and on track."

Moravian, 2-0 after its fall season, is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 2 in a non-conference match at rival Muhlenberg College starting at 5:00 p.m.
