CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory at DeSales University in non-conference action Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds won a pair of doubles contests to lead 2-1. Freshman Ali Bender and Leah Zolotareva combined for an 8-2 victory at first doubles while senior Mara Stapleton and sophomore Izzy Szmodis posted an 8-6 triumph at second doubles
- Moravian captured five of the six singles contest to clinch the match. Bender was the first off the courts with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at third singles while Zolotareva recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles. Szmodis clinched the winning team point as she recorded a 6-4, 6-4 triumph at second singles. Freshman Sydney Shifman earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory at fourth singles while senior Gabby Martin finished off the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win at sixth singles
