BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis team swept visiting Lycoming College, 9-0, in Landmark Conference action Sunday in a match played in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse due to the temperatures.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds captured all three doubles matches for a quick 3-0 lead. Senior Emily Masters and freshman Sydney Shifman opened the contest with an 8-0 win at third doubles while the tandem of freshmen Ali Bender and Leah Zolotareva won the same score at first doubles. Senior Mara Stapleton and sophomore Izzy Szmodis added an 8-1 triumph at second doubles
- Moravian posted wins in all the singles matches as well with Szmodis first off the courts with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at second singles. Zolotareva captured the winning team point with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at first singles while Bender finished off a 6-4, 6-2 win at third singles. Shifman contributed an 8-1 victory at fourth singles while Stapleton had an 8-0 triumph at fifth singles and senior Gabby Martin recorded an 8-0 win at sixth singles
- Moravian has won seven straight matches with five coming by a 9-0 score
