MADISON, N.J. --- The second seeded Moravian University women's squad fell to top seed and host Drew University, 5-1, in the 2024 Landmark Conference Championship match Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Rangers won two of the three doubles matches for a 2-1 lead. The Greyhounds earned a point at second doubles from the tandem of freshmen Leah Zolotareva and Sydney Shifman, who won 8-3
  • Drew won the first three singles matches to clinch and end the match. The Hounds were leading the other three singles contests with senior Mara Stapleton one game from winning her fourth singles match and Shifman two games from a victory at third singles
  • The Blue & Grey faced Drew for the third year in the Landmark Conference finals as Moravian played in the conference championship match for the fifth straight tournament. It was the first time in the five years that the championship match was played outdoors with the previous four years moved indoors due to the weather
  • The Hounds, who have five Landmark Conference titles, won back-to-back in 2019 and 2021 before falling to Drew the last three seasons
