Leonard & Sutter Honored as Landmark Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Senior jumper Micah Leonard and sophomore sprinter Brielle Sutter of the Moravian College women's track & field team have been named the Landmark Conference Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Leonard, who was named the Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth consecutive week, won the triple jump at Moravian's own non-scoring Greyhound Invitational with a school and Landmark Conference record and ECAC qualifying mark of 11.97 meters (39 feet, 3 ¼ inches), a distance that moves her to fourth on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list that will have the top 22 individuals and top 16 relay teams at the end of the season in each event heading to the NCAA Division III National Championships at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Leonard's jump was on her first of the finals.

Sutter, who earned Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this spring, was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 57.77 seconds, the second fastest time in school history and a mark that puts her 17th on the TFRRS list. Sutter also ran the leadoff leg of Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad that finished third with an ECAC qualifying time 4:01.11, the eighth best time in school history and 41st on the TFRRS list.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 27th and 28th at the 2013 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by Goucher College. The Greyhounds are looking to win their sixth straight conference title.
