Bauder Earns 400th Victory in 3-1 Win Over Widener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Head Coach Shelley Bauder of the Moravian College volleyball team earned her 400th career victory with its 3-1 win over Widener University Friday night. The Greyhounds won by scores of 25-16, 16-25, 25-22 and 25-16.

With the win, Moravian has become the only school in NCAA Division III with four active head coaches with more than 400 victories. Bauder joins head softball coach John Byrne (616 wins), head women's basketball coach Mary Beth Spirk (465 wins) and head men's basketball Jim Walker (411 wins) in the 400-win club at Moravian College.

In the match, the Greyhounds were led by freshman outside hitter Lauren Hostetler, who had 15 kills, 11 digs and two blocks. Senior right-side hitter Samantha Savite tallied ten kills and four blocks while junior setter Kelly Brown finished with 39 assists and 15 digs.

Senior libero Jesse Krasley totaled 29 digs and five assists while freshman middle blocker Victoria Bobyak had nine kills and eight blocks. Junior middle blocker Brittany O'Hara had six kills and three blocks while sophomore outside hitter Kelianne Comitalo had six kills and four service aces.

The Pride was led by sophomore middle hitter Kaitlin Schnalzer, who had ten kills, seven digs and two blocks. Junior setter Maggie Greenberg had 27 assists, eight digs and three kills while senior libero Meghan Spence finished with 19 digs and one ace.

Moravian travels to Eastern University tomorrow, September 22nd for a tri-match. The Greyhounds will take on Richard Stockton College of New Jersey at 12 p.m. and Eastern at 2 p.m.
