Hounds Fall to Messiah in Non-Conference Match

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought match to Messiah College in non-conference action Thursday night in Johnston Hall by a final score of 25-15, 25-18, 25-18.

Leading the Hounds was sophomore outside hitter Mary Zacher with nine kills, 11 digs, one service ace and one assist. Junior middle blocker Taylor Kornmann tallied six kills, two digs and one service ace for the team while senior setter Megan Szkolnicki added three kills, 13 assists, eight digs and three service aces.

Freshman setter Rebecca Purcell added 11 digs and one assist while sophomore libero Jean Markovic contributed seven digs and two assists.

Next up for the Hounds is a pair of Landmark Conference matches versus the University of Scranton and USMMA. Those matches are being held at Scranton on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
