Moravian Falls in Non-Conference Action at Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 non-conference decision at Lancaster Bible College Tuesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Chargers scored the first two points of the match before the Hounds got onto the scoreboard in the opening set. After trailing by seven points at 14-7, Moravian ran off five straight points to get within 14-12 before Lancaster Bible took the opening set 25-20
  • The second set saw the Chargers race out to an 18-10 advantage before senior outside hitter Kirah Dreisbach served the Greyhounds back to a two-point deficit at 18-16. Moravian kept the remainder of the set close with Lancaster Bible winning 25-23
  • The third set had the Chargers leading 10-5 before the Greyhounds rallied to tie the game at 10-10. Moravian moved into the lead for good with Dreisbach serving once again and would take the set 25-21
  • The fourth set followed the previous three with Lancaster Bible jumping out to a lead, this set at 9-4. The Hounds came back to tie the game at 9-9 and then again at 14-14 before the Chargers pulled away for a 25-20 win to capture the match

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior outside hitter Sela Herber paced the Greyhounds with 12 kills, 18 digs and a pair of blocks
  • Dreisbach and freshman middle blocker Jenna Deegan both added 10 kills for Moravian with Dreisbach contributed 12 digs and Deegan making four blocks
  • Freshman right side hitter Mackenzie Krasley added nine kills, seven digs and two blocks
  • Junior setter Natalia Matos had 27 assists, 12 digs and two service aces in her first action of the year while freshman setter Emily Solomon contributed 10 assists
  • Senior middle blocker Renee Mapa contributed six kills while junior defensive specialist Gabby Mancini and sophomore defensive specialist Kat DeYesso both had seven digs
