Women's Volleyball Squad Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- The American Volleyball Coaches Association released a total of 1,333 college, including Moravian University, and high school volleyball teams that received the 2022-23 United States Marine Corps/AVCA Team Academic Award in the 31st year of the award.

The award, which began in 1992-93, honors college and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average during the 2021-22 school year.

Moravian, under the direction of 30-year head coach Shelley Bauder, earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 13th time since the award was started. The Greyhounds and fellow Landmark Conference schools The Catholic University of America, Drew University, Elizabethtown College, Juniata College, Susquehanna University and The University of Scranton received the honor for 2022-23.

Coach Bauder and the Greyhounds open their 2023 season on Friday, September 1 when the squad hosts Misericordia University in Johnston Hall as part of the 20th Greyhound Premiere Invitational.
