Bauer, Krasley & Solomon Named 2023 Moravian Women’s Volleyball Captains

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team has named senior outside hitter Sophie Bauer and juniors right side hitter Makenzie Krasley and setter Emily Solomon as team captains for the 2023 season.

"I'm excited to announce this year's captains," stated Head Coach Shelley Bauder, who is entering her 31st season at Moravian. "All three of these student athletes have top notch communication skills, a wealth of volleyball knowledge, and are highly respected by their peers and the coaching staff."

Bauer has played in 129 sets over 46 career matches for the Blue & Grey, and she has 196 kills, 71 digs, 16 blocks, three assists and three service aces at Moravian.

Krasley has seen action in 191 sets in 56 career matches at Moravian, and she contributed 292 kills, 144 digs, 59 blocks, 12 service aces and seven assists for the Hounds.

Solomon has been on the court for 56 sets in 29 matches over the last two years, and she has added 175 assists, 53 digs, 12 blocks, eight kills and eight service aces for the Greyhounds.

Moravian is slated to begin the 2023 campaign on Friday, September 1 when the squad hosts the opening day of the Greyhound Premiere Invitational with the Hounds facing off against Misericordia University at 8:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
