Women's Cross Country Finishes 5th at Brooks Paul Short Run

The Moravian College women's cross country team competed at the 38th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run at Lehigh University Friday afternoon. The Greyhounds finished in fifth place with 262 points, while Kutztown University won the race with 69 points. Iona College won the brown race and Providence College won the gold race as 128 teams and 1,458 runners competed in three 6,000-meters races.

Individually for the women, senior Cadee Rockwell finished in fifth place out of 334 runners with a time of 23:13. Freshman Claire Del Casale, pictured, placed 27th with a time of 24:17. Senior Kristina Ruggiero finished in 50th with a time of 24:54. Freshman Jessie Goldberg earned 83rd place with her time of 25:24. Classmate Emily Lambright placed 107th with a time of 25:47. Senior Megan Hallowell ran a 26:08, good for 129th place. Freshman Devon Bedell finished 148th with a time of 26:21.

Sophomore Jennifer Parodi placed 150th with a time of 26:24. Freshman Alyssa Tallon finished in 306th place with a time of 30:28. Sophomore Amanda Smilgis ran a 29:32 in the Open Race and finished 318th place.

The Greyhounds return to action Saturday, October 8 when they travel to Center Valley, PA for the DeSales University Invitational. The race is expected to start at 10:30 a.m.
