CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's cross country team finished sixth of the 24 teams at the 2022 NCAA Division III Metro Regional hosted by DeSales University Saturday morning.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds scored 211 points, breaking a time with Ursinus College on the sixth runner
- Widener University won the race with 61 points to claim an automatic berth to the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championships in Lansing, Michigan next weekend
Moravian Results
- Sophomore Amber Poniktera led the Hounds with a 21st place finish of the 170 runners to earn All-Region honors, and Poniktera recorded a time of 24:10 on the 6,000-meter course to garner All-Region accolades for the second straight year
- Freshman Tara Smurla also garnered All-Metro Region honors as she crossed the finish line in 25th with a time of 24:16
- Senior Rachel Byrne was 42nd overall in 24:55 while sophomore Rachael Goodman took 61st in a time of 25:43
- Rounding out the Moravian runners were sophomore Lily Mingora in 66th with a time of 25:56, freshman Tori Champagne, who was 75th in 26:21, and sophomore Catie Lovett in 88th with a time of 26:57
