Get to Know Director of Athletic Performance Thomas Long

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next non-coaching staff member in the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation's Get to Know series is our Director of Athletic Performance Thomas Long, who is in his fifth year at Moravian. Long works with all of the athletic teams on strength and conditioning.

How did you get into your field? Was also interested and passionate about human performance/development. The science that drives our field really caught my attention.

What is your favorite place on campus? Bench overlooking Mak Field

What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? Training the Men's Basketball program when they won back to back Landmark Conference Championships

What is the best piece of advice you've been given? Earn it – My Dad

Who are your role models/most influential people? My tribe: my Mom/Dad and two older Brothers.

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? Sir Earnest Shackleton, Theodore Roosevelt, my grandfathers – Robert Long and William Hamill

What have you done more of since March that you wouldn't have if sports had not been postponed? Read, hunt, hike, and connect with family and friends.

If you weren't in your current position, what would you be doing? Military.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people. My brothers and I are Eagle Scouts and we all backpacked a 110-mile course out in New Mexico. Highest elevation climb 12,441 feet
