Espinal-Katz Selected to College Sports Communicators Football Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University senior defensive lineman Javi Espinal-Katz has been selected to the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Football Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District Team, Espinal-Katz is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Tuesday, December 20.

Espinal-Katz, a studio art major and management minor with a 3.56 grade-point average, started all 10 games this fall for the Greyhounds and contributed 43 tackles with six tackles for loss, three and a half sacks and a pass break-up. In 20 career games at Moravian, Espinal-Katz recorded 93 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks and six pass break-ups. This fall, he was named to the Centennial Conference Fall All-Sportsmanship Team, and he's been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times and is a two-time member of the Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.
