Men's Basketball Selected 8th in Landmark Conference Preseason Poll

MADISON, N.J. --- The 2011-12 Moravian College men's basketball team has been picked eighth in the Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.

Defending champion The University of Scranton was picked first in the poll with 77 points while The Catholic University of America is second with 64 points. Susquehanna University and Drew University hold the third and fourth spots with 48 and 47 points respectively while the United States Merchant Marine Academy holds down the fifth spot with 45 points. Juniata College is sixth with 43 points while Goucher College is seventh with 21 points. The Greyhounds round out the poll with 19 points.

The 2011-12 Moravian men's basketball team looks challenge for a postseason berth this winter. Head coach Jim Walker, who enters his 32nd season at the school, has 11 letterwinners returning and three starters back from last year's 9-16 squad.

The Greyhounds begin their 2011-12 season versus rival Muhlenberg College on Tuesday, November 15th at 8:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall. The Greyhounds begin the Landmark Conference season on Saturday, December 3rd with a game at Scranton at 2:00 p.m. The top four teams in the regular season will advance to the postseason tournament which begins on February 23rd.
