Moravian Tied for Tenth after Opening Round at The Ruckus

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. --- The Moravian University men's golf team is tied for tenth of 12 teams after the opening round Saturday of The Ruckus at the Williamsburg (Va.) National Golf Club as the Greyhounds played their first round of the spring season.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds recorded a team score of 322 in the first round and are tied with Stevens Institute of Technology
  • Moravian is just two strokes out of eighth place, trailing Goucher College by a stroke and Ohio Wesleyan University by two strokes
  • Husson University sits in first place with an opening round team score of 294 

Moravian Results

  • Freshman Jake Haberstumpf is tied for 15th of 69 golfers after an opening round of 77 on the par 72 course. Haberstumpf recorded 15 pars in his round
  • Sophomore Jason Koch is tied for 30th with first round of 80 that saw him post a pair of birdies and seven pars
  • Freshman Robbie McNelly is tied for 43rd after an opening round of 82 that included 11 pars
  • Senior Andrew Hozza is in a tie for 50th with an 83 that saw him record three birdies and seven pars
  • Senior Jack Wagner had a 90 in the first round with five pars
