SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team moved a step closer to a postseason berth with a 5-4 victory over host The University of Scranton at the Birchwood Racquet Club Saturday as the Greyhounds win their sixth consecutive contest.
How It Happened
- The Hounds trailed 2-1 after doubles action, picking up a point at second doubles as the tandem of sophomores Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer recorded an 8-7 (9-7) triumph. The Royals would get wins at first doubles, 8-4, and third doubles, 8-6
- Moravian then won four of the six singles contests to rally for the victory. Scranton made it 3-1 with a victory at first singles before Marshall posted a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at third singles. Sophomore Anthony Ronca earned a 7-5, 6-4 win at second singles to even the match at 3-3 while the Royals countered with a win at fourth singles to move back ahead, 4-3. Senior Kieran Pisani recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory at sixth singles to tie the contest again before Pimentel Ferrer won 6-2, 7-5 at fifth singles to earn the team win
- The victory was the 15th of the season for the Greyhounds, extending their program-record win total broken earlier this week
