LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian College softball team moved up one spot to 20th in the nation in the fourth regular season 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll released Wednesday.

Moravian has 42 points in the poll, and the Greyhounds were 21st in the poll last week with 42 points. The Greyhounds were 19th in the first regular season poll, and 14th in the second poll after being 17th in the preseason poll in late January. Moravian is one of three teams from the East Region ranked in the Top 25 while three other teams from the region received votes outside of the Top 25.

Montclair State University received all eight first-place votes and holds down the top spot with 200 points while Emory (Ga.) University is second with 191 points. The University of Texas-Tyler is ranked third with 185 points followed by Illinois Wesleyan University with 175 points. Trine (Ind.) University holds down the fifth spot in the poll with 169 points, and the top seven spots in the poll remained unchanged from last week.

Moravian, under the direction of 20th-year head coach John Byrne, started the 2013 campaign with an 8-2 record at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida. One of Moravian's two losses on the trip was to Coe (Iowa) College, which is ranked 19th this week.

The Greyhounds, who have had two home doubleheaders postponed in the last week due to weather, are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 23rd when the squad begins its 2013 Landmark Conference season with a doubleheader at Drew University starting at 1:00 p.m. in Madison, New Jersey.
