TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore outfielder Victoria Smith has been named as the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Smith helped the Greyhounds begin the 2020 season with a pair of wins on Sunday at the PFX Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. She was 3-for-6 in the two contests with three RBIs, two runs scored and a .571 on-base percentage while making her first two career starts in right field. Smith was 2-for-4 with an RBI and three putouts in the Hounds' 8-3, nine-inning victory over John Carroll (Ohio) University to begin the season, and she then went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored and two RBIs in a 4-1 win versus Illinois College.

"Victoria had a very good opening day on Sunday," stated Head Coach John Byrne. "She switched positions this spring and is adapting to playing in right field very well."

The Greyhounds returned to action with two more games at the Spring Game on Monday, March 2 with the squad taking on Neumann University at 10:15 a.m. and Alvernia University at 12:15 p.m.
