Golfers Win Cabrini Classic; Thieme Ties for 2nd Individually

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team won the Cabrini College Spring Classic played at the RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve Tuesday as the Greyhounds posted a team score of 318, the lowest of the five teams.

Moravian's team score of 318 was seven strokes ahead of Immaculata University at 325 and host Cabrini was third with its white team at 327. Rob Bass from Cabrini was the medalist with a two-over par round of 73.

Senior Aaron Thieme led the Greyhounds with a five-over par round of 76 to tie for second of the 25 golfers in the tournament. Freshman Jim Maru was sixth in the tournament with a round of 79 while senior Tyler Thompson was seventh with a 81. Freshman Evan Dickinson and James Lobb were tied for eighth with rounds of 82.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Sunday, April 14th in the first day of the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pennsylvania starting at 10:00 a.m.
