Greyhounds Win Two Events & Record Six Top 10 Finishes at Ithaca Bomber Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field squad won two events and recorded six top 10 performances at the non-scoring Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca College Saturday.

The Hounds had a pair of first place finishes with senior Carly Danoski winning the 800-meter run in 2:15.53 and sophomore Amanda Crooks capturing the 60-meter dash in 7.86 seconds, with both times qualifying for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships in March. Danoski's time is her fastest of the season in the race, and it is also fourth on the Track & Field Results Reporting System with the top 20 in each event qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships in March. Crook's finals time in the second fastest in school history, behind her record time set in December, and the 7.88 seconds she ran in the preliminaries is tied for the third fastest time in program history.

The Greyhounds had four student-athletes qualify for the AARTF Championships including sophomore Natalie Stabilito running a PR time of 2:22.31 in the 800-meter run to finish fourth behind Danoski. Freshman Crystal Robinson was fifth in the 400-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying time of 1:00.84 while junior Martha Thorpe took third in the triple jump with an AARTFC qualifying leap and PR distance of 10.90 meters (35-9.25).

Sophomore Ally Lambert ran two PR times, finishing 14th in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.03 and taking 18th in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.95 seconds. Thorpe also finished 15th in the 200-meter dash in 23.57 seconds while Crooks was 19th in 27.69 seconds. Junior Tatiana Lopez was 17th in the 60-meter hurdles with a PR of 9.92 seconds while freshman Shannon Connelly took 19th in the 400-meter dash in 1:05.77. Senior Katie Mayer finished 18th in the mile run with a time of 5:52.93. Lambert, Danoski, Stabilito and Connelly combined to finish fifth in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:18.12.

Sophomore Emma Marion led four Greyhounds in the 3,000-meter run with a 13th place finish in a time of 11:07.39. Junior Molly Talarico  was 14th with a PR time of 11:08.58 while senior Ashley Rohrer took 18th in 11:15.42 and sophomore Santina Burak placed 19th with a PR of 11:17.58.

Freshman Elizabeth DeMassa finished 17th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.57 meters (31-4.75) while freshman Haylee Saylor was 19th with a mark of 9.38 meters (30-9.25).

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, February 8 when the squad travels to the Alvernia University Plex Shootout.
