Four Greyhounds Honored as College Sports Communicators Women’s Basketball Academic All-District

Morgan Amy, Ashley Robinson, Emily Markowski and Kayla Yoegel in action for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University graduate student forward Kayla Yoegel and seniors guard Morgan Amy, forward Emily Markowski and guard Ashley Robinson have been honored on the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District Team, all four student-athletes are now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Tuesday, March 14.

Yoegel is working on a master's in business administration after graduating last May with a degree in business and a minor in sports management, and she has a 3.90 grade-point average as a graduate student and a 3.81 GPA as an undergraduate. This winter, Yoegel is averaging 13.1 points per game to go along with 5.4 rebounds per contest, 31 assists, 25 steals and 16 blocked shots while playing in 24 games with 23 starts. In her career, Yoegel has 1,009 points as she became the 29th player in women's basketball history to reach 1,000 points, and she also has 448 points, 97 assists, 86 steals, 71 three-pointers and 91 blocked shots, which ranks tenth all-time, in 102 games with 84 starts. Yoegel has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List nine times and will be a four-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll in addition to making the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in both 2021 and 2022.

Amy, who is majoring in economics policy and theory with minors in political science and management to go with a 3.85 GPA, is contributing 6.2 points per contest to go with 109 assists, 54 rebounds, 30 steals, 20 assists and four blocked shots while starting all 25 contests in 2022-23. In 85 career games with 84 starts, Amy has 488 points, 220 rebounds, 337 assists, which ranks fifth in program history, 102 steals, 51 three-pointers and 19 blocked shots. She was named to the 2021 Landmark All-Conference Second Team, and Amy has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List nine times, a two-time selection to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization Scholar-Athlete Team and will be a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Markowski, who is a special education and early childhood education major with a 3.53 GPA, has started all 25 games this winter, and she is adding 5.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per outing to go with 47 assists, 35 steals, 13 blocked shots and seven three-pointers. Markowski has played in 78 games with 45 starts in her career, and she has 330 points, 236 rebounds, 95 assists, 74 steals and 25 blocked shots. She will be a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll and was selected to the 2022 Landmark Conference Winter All-Sportsmanship Team.

Robinson, who is majoring in accounting and economics with a minor in management to go with a 3.60 GPA, has an average of 5.4 points per game this winter to go with 44 rebounds, 18 assists, eight steals, six three-pointers and four blocked shots in 25 games with a pair of starts. Robinson has played in 51 contests with two starts in her career, and she has 205 points, 103 rebounds, 28 assists, 23 steals, six three-pointers and four blocked shots in her four seasons. She will be a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
