Pope & Warburton Join Moravian Women's Lacrosse Coaching Staff

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College has added Ashley Pope and Grace Warburton as assistant coaches on the women's lacrosse staff for the upcoming 2016 season.

"I'm very excited to have Grace and Ashley joining me at Moravian as we begin our journey retuning to varsity status this spring," commented Head Coach Kristen Schuster, who is also beginning her first varsity season at Moravian this year.

Warburton comes to Moravian after finishing a stellar four-year career in cage for the FDU-Florham. Reaching milestones as an athlete, she holds the single season save record with 220 saves, was named First Team Freedom All-Conference and MAC Freedom tournament MVP for 2013, is ranked third for all-time career saves with 534 and has three MAC Freedom conference championship wins under belt. Warburton was named team captain for her junior and senior years for the Devils.

"I had the pleasure of coaching Grace in cage during her playing career at Fairleigh Dickinson University," Schuster said. "She is a motivated and energetic coach and comes with a wealth of knowledge between the pipes."

Pope comes to Moravian after a season as an assistant coach at Muhlenberg College. She played her collegiate career at NCAA Division II Shippensburg University where she scored 21 points and added 41 ground balls, 13 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers in 53 career matches. Pope also works with T3 Lacrosse as an Elite coach for rising sophomores and juniors. She is a head Elite coach for T3 West located in the Lehigh Valley.

"Ashley comes to us from a strong competitor where she was the assistant coach and offensive specialist," stated Schuster I'm very excited to have her join our coaching staff this year and watch her bring her knowledge and passion for the game.

"I'm confident that both Grace and Ashley will be a positive influences on our athletes and program alike." Noted Schuster. "Collectively we are all looking forward to a great year and ready to get the first Greyhound women's lacrosse season started."

Moravian will play its first varsity match since 2010 when the Greyhounds host Hood College on Saturday, February 27, 2016.
