Steinert Selected as Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Lauren Steinert honored as Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Lauren Steinert has been named one of the Landmark Conference Women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week.

With the unprecedented cancellation of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark Conference will be recognizing an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored spring sport for the remainder of the academic year. Honorees were nominated for recognition by their respective institution based on achievements from the shortened season and career accolades.

Steinert recorded career marks of 39-13 in singles action and 39-16 in doubles action, and her .709 career doubles winning percentage is tenth in school history. Steinert tied the school record with 20 wins in 2018-19, and her 20-0 record tied the school mark for season winning percentage. Steinert was named to the 2018 and 2019 Landmark All-Conference Second Team in doubles and the 2019 Landmark All-Conference Second Team in singles. She was also selected to the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll three times, as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Scholar-Athlete twice and the 2019 Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Most Outstanding Women’s Tennis Athlete.

“Lauren has had a phenomenal career here at Moravian,” commented Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf. “She has done everything that was asked of her and more; she has won countless awards, helped take our program to new heights, and cemented her legacy as one of the best to do it here.”
