Release #4 - March 18

Following the recent recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Landmark Conference and Moravian College have made the difficult decision to cancel all spring competition.

Spring competition includes all practices, regular season, postseason, and national championship play.

Regarding eligibility for spring sports, no spring sport student-athlete who is enrolled at Moravian College in spring of 2020 will be charged a year of participation, nor will these athletes be charged a full-time semester of enrollment against their 10 semesters. 

Along with the cancellation of competition, all on-campus recruiting for all sports will be halted upon further evaluation. Moravian College athletic facilities will remain closed until further notice.

Release #3 - March 13

In addition to postponing all competition from Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, April 5, Moravian College has announced the institution will suspend all athletic related activities through March 29.  This includes all practices, group trainings and team/departmental programs and activities.  

Moravian College athletic facilities will remain open with limited hours, including the performance center and the campus-wide fitness center. 

We understand this is a difficult time for all our student-athletes.  The Landmark Conference and Moravian College remain committed to exploring opportunities for our spring student-athletes and programs.  Further, conference officials are working with the NCAA for information impacting student-athlete eligibility. As soon as we have information to share it will be appropriately communicated to our student-athletes.

Release #2 - March 12

The Landmark Conference has announced all scheduled Landmark competition from Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, April 5 has been postponed. The member institutions continue to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on all campus events and student activities, including athletics.

The suspension is for both conference and non-conference contests both home and away that are scheduled during that time period.  The Landmark Conference institutions will continue to monitor the situation and reassess as it evolves.

Release #1 - March 11

Moravian Athletics is aware of the severity of the coronavirus and working directly with school officials to monitor conditions. While there have been no confirmed cases reported on our campus or in our community, Moravian is taking precautions to ensure the health and well-being of the campus community.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Landmark Conference has not requested that we cancel or postpone any of our varsity athletic contests. We are also not restricting spectators at our home athletics contests at this time.  There is a possibility that several of our opponents may choose to postpone or cancel play based on their institution's overall response. This is a situation that will likely continue to evolve based on information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NCAA, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
