SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad dropped a 2-1 overtime match at The University of Scranton Saturday in Landmark Conference action.
How It Happened
- The Royals got onto the scoreboard first with a goal in the 11th minute of action in the first quarter for a 1-0 edge
- Neither squad was able to find the cage as the contest headed to the intermission still 1-0 for Scranton, and the match remained 1-0 through the third quarter
- Moravian knotted the score in the 53rd minute when junior defender Jenna Segrave knocked in an insert from senior midfielder Emily Wells on a penalty corner with 7:17 still to go in the fourth quarter. The score would remain 1-1 at the end of the regulation 60 minutes sending the squads to overtime
- The Royals needed just 1:13 of the extra session to score the winning goal
Inside the Numbers
- Segrave earned her second goal of the year
- Wells recorded her fifth assist of the season and the 18th of her career as she became the 16th player in program history to reach 50 career points
- Senior goalie Brooke Wilkinson registered six saves
- The Royals had a 12-6 advantage in shots while the Greyhounds had an 8-7 edge in penalty corners
