Moravian Men Win Pair of Events in Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's outdoor track & field team hosted the Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field Friday, and the Hounds picked up a pair of event victories. 

Event Winners

  • Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad of sophomores Marco Calantoni, Jared Santos and Matt Shea and freshman Trevor Gray took first in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying time of 43.07 seconds
  • Freshman Nathan Hajel won the 10,000-meter run, the final event of the meet, with an AARTF qualifying time of 32:10.55 

Top 10 Results

  • Gray finished fifth in the finals of the 100-meter dash in an AARTF qualifying time of 11.08 seconds after qualifying in 11.07 seconds while Santos was a spot back in sixth in a PR time of 11.17 seconds
  • Senior Michael Lerch was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:22.00, and he was followed by senior Richard Glennon in third at 10:34.96, freshman Jake Farrell at fourth in a time of 10:35.90 and junior Christian Jancsarics in sixth at a PR time of 10:50.81
  • Senior Shane Houghton finished third in the 1,500-meter run in a PR time of 4:02.45. Freshman Owen Nahf was fifth in the race at a PR time of 4:06.74 while senior Dominic DeRafelo placed sixth in a PR time of 4:08.57 and graduate student Peter Gingrich took seventh in 4:10.22
  • Senior Brad Clemson finished fifth in the 800-meter run in a PR time of 1:57.62 while sophomore Casey Frank was ninth in a PR time of 1:58.63
  • Junior Liam Duffy was the runner-up in the 10,000-meter run in an AARTF qualifying and PR time of 32:21.67 while sophomore Josh Mangini was sixth in the race in 40:38.05
  • Freshman Jason Gartner was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in a PR time of 1:00.06
  • Senior Max Schuman tied for sixth in the pole vault at a height of 4.20 meters (13-9.25)
  • Graduate student Shane Mastro was the runner-up in the shot put with an AARTF qualifying toss of 15.24 meters (50-0)
  • Mastro also finished fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 46.01 meters (150-11) while junior Dan Jenkins was sixth at 45.56 meters (149-5) and senior Tim King finished ninth with a distance of 42.11 meters (138-2)
