Moravian Men Participate in Lehigh’s Covert Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's outdoor track & field team participated in the non-scoring John and Carol Covert Classic at Lehigh University Saturday.

Top 10 Results

  • Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad of sophomores Matt Shea and Jared Santos and freshmen Trevor Gray and Owen Sabastro finished as the runner-up in a time of 42.93 seconds
  • Senior Dominic DeRafelo placed seventh in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:57.68
  • Gray recorded a seventh place in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.88 seconds
  • Santos was also ninth in the 100-meter dash in 11.40 seconds
  • Sophomore Lance Burrier took ninth in the 400-meter dash in 54.55 seconds while sophomore Marco Calantoni was tenth in 54.84 seconds
  • Freshman Jason Gartner placed tenth in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.72 seconds
  • Senior Max Schuman tied for fifth in the pole vault at a height of 4.05 meters (13-3.5)
  • Junior Adam Gildea was tenth in the discus with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying mark of 41.81 meters (137-2)

AARTF Qualifiers

  • Graduate student Shane Mastro was 12th in the shot put with an AARTF qualifying mark of 14.18 meters (46-6.25)
