Donnelly Records 100th Career Point as Greyhounds Fall at Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's lacrosse squad jumped out to an early lead in a non-conference match at Cabrini University before falling, 16-14, Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored the first two goals as graduate student attack Brittany Bill netted a pair of eight-meter shots before the Cavaliers got on the scoreboard. Moravian added two more tallies, one from Bill and one by senior attack Devin King to lead 4-1 with 6:55 remaining in the opening quarter. Cabrini scored twice to pull within a goal when Bill added another goal. The Cavaliers netted once more to make to make it 5-4 for the Blue & Grey after 15 minutes of action
  • King began the second quarter with a goal to push Moravian's edge to 6-4, but Cabrini scored seven straight goals to head to the intermission with an 11-6 advantage
  • Each squad would score three times during the third period with sophomore midfielder Alex Cherenson beginning the quarter. The Cavaliers netted two goals before sophomore midfielder Madi Dippel put a pair of shots in the net. Cabrini scored once more to lead 14-9 after 45 minutes of play
  • The Cavaliers scored first in the fourth quarter before Cherenson netted a goal at the 10:27 mark that was assisted by senior midfielder Megan Donnelly as Donnelly became the 11th player in school history to reach 100 career points. Cherenson added another goal, and senior attack Kendall Lomascola found the net to pull the Hounds within three goals at 15-12. Cabrini tallied a goal before King and sophomore attack Jackie Salvatore scored in the final three and a half minutes, but that would be as close as Moravian would get

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had seven different players record points with Bill netting four goals to go with a pair of ground balls. King finished with three goals and an assist while Cherenson added three goals, three draw controls, two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers
  • Dippel scored two goals while Salvatore had a goal, two assists and four draw controls. Lomascola recorded a goal while Donnelly posted an assist and three draw controls. Donnelly now has 68 goals and 32 assists in her career
  • Senior goalie Rylee Soltis had a career-high 18 saves and five ground balls while junior defender Alise Downey scooped up five ground balls and junior defender Keara Reilly added two ground balls
