Eight Greyhounds Named to Inaugural Landmark All-Conference Football Teams

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University football team has eight student-athletes selected to the inaugural Landmark All-Conference Football Teams with sophomore linebacker Clay Basile, senior wide receiver Jordan Bingham, junior quarterback Jared Jenkins, junior offensive lineman Reins Leedy and junior defensive lineman Jeremy McGuigan named to the First Team.

Senior running back Nate Boyle and senior wide receiver Brad Bryan were honored on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team while senior punter/defensive back Colin Conway earned a spot on the All-Conference Honorable Mention squad.           

Basile led the Moravian defense with 80 tackles in 2023 including a team-high six tackles for loss. Basile added two and a half sacks, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery this fall.

Bingham had an impressive first season with the Greyhounds, setting the school record for receptions with 69 in just nine games. Bingham added 830 yards and nine touchdowns this fall, and he also had three kickoff returns for 63 yards. He had three games of 11 or more catches including a season-high 12 receptions at Juniata College when Bingham also had season highs for 162 yards and three touchdowns.

Jenkins set four single season school records for Moravian this fall including completions with 244, attempts with 381, touchdowns with 26 and pass efficiency rating at 139.56. Jenkins threw for 2,737 yards, the third best season in school history, to become the tenth Greyhound to surpass 3,000 career passing yards, and Jenkins finished the year with 2,845 yards of total offense. He also threw for five two-point conversions and ran for another to go with one rushing touchdown as he ran for 108 yards on 82 carries.

Leedy helped the Moravian offense average 399.6 yards per game in 2023 including 121.8 yards on the ground and 277.8 yards through the air in each contest. The Greyhounds also had the ball on offense for an average of 32:33 per game, and the Blue & Grey were 64-for-157 on third downs and 19-for-38 on fourth downs this fall.

McGuigan was third on the squad this fall with 49 tackles to lead the defensive line, and he added three and a half tackles for loss, three sacks, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick.

Boyle received his third straight postseason award after making the Centennial All-Conference Second Team in 2021 and the Centennial All-Conference Honorable Mention squad a year ago. He led the Greyhounds rushing attack this fall with 897 yards and eight touchdowns on 213, and Boyle also caught 17 passes for 241 yards. Boyle did some place kicking for Moravian this fall, and he was 10-for-11 on extra-point attempts to go with five two-point conversions, three rushing and two receiving while throwing one two-point conversion. Earlier this fall, Boyle finished his career with 2,317 yards to rank seventh in program history, and he is sixth all-time in rushing attempts with 558, third in yards per game at 82.8, tied for tenth in rushing touchdowns with 18, seventh in all-purpose yardage at 2,789 yards, seventh in scoring with 134 points and ninth in total touchdowns with 19.

Bryan was second on the squad in receptions with 53 and receiving yards with 741 this fall, and he tied Bingham for the team lead with nine touchdown receptions. Earlier this fall, Bryan became the 22nd Greyhound to reach 1,000 career receiving yards, finishing his career with 1,089 yards and 11 touchdowns on 78 receptions. Bryan also had 28 rushing attempts for 70 yards and a touchdown, and he completed 36-of-82 passes for 202 yards while seeing time at quarterback during the 2022 season.

Conway averaged 38.8 yards on 43 punts this fall with a long of 59 yards, 16 inside the 20-yard line, four fair caught and two touchbacks. Conway recorded 31 tackles and three pass break-ups this season, and he completed one-of-two pass attempts on fake punts for 18 yards and a first down.
