Field Hockey Headed to Bermuda from August 12th to 17th

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team is headed to Bermuda on Monday, August 12th for six days of touring and matches.

Eleventh-year head coach Amy Endler and her squad of 12 players will fly from Newark to Bermuda on Monday, and the team will enjoy some free time once they arrive on the island.

"I am excited for this opportunity for our team to test ourselves against international competition heading into our 2013 season," Coach Endler said, "This will be a once in a lifetime experience for most of our players and I am looking forward to our team bonding in this unique way."

Tuesday will see the Greyhounds spending the early portion of the day at Horseshoe Bay before an evening match versus the Bermuda Federation Team that evening. On Wednesday, the squad will take in Elbow Beach in the morning and then play the Bermudian National Team in their second match of the trip Wednesday evening.

The group will take a scenic ferry ride of the history Dockyards in St. George as well as a visit to Hamilton on Thursday while Friday has the Greyhounds spending time at Grotto Bay and in St. George.

The Greyhounds will head back to the United States on Saturday, August 17th. Once the team returns to Bethlehem, the players will have one day off before returning to campus to begin preseason came on August 19th. Moravian is set to begin its 2013 season on Saturday, August 31st when the squad hosts DeSales University on the turf at Rocco Calvo Field at 1:00 p.m.
