CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision at DeSales University in non-conference action Thursday evening in the opening match of the 2021 season.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds and the Bulldogs played a scoreless first half
- DeSales broke onto the scoreboard with 4:33 left in the third quarter and would score again 17 seconds later for a 2-0 edge
- The Bulldogs netted the lone goal in the fourth quarter with under a minute remaining
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian Head Coach Sarah Dalrymple coached her first NCAA counting contest a little over 18 months after becoming the Greyhounds' mentor with her initial season cancelled due to the pandemic
- Junior goalie Brooke Wilkinson had 11 saves in her first career start for the Greyhounds
- Junior defender Elise Keeney, junior defender/midfielder Onalee Long and freshman defender/midfielder Savannah Sutter each had one defensive save for Moravian. Keeney also took all five of the Hounds' penalty corners in the contest
