BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team began the 2024 spring season with an 8-1 victory over visiting FDU-Florham in non-conference action in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse Monday afternoon.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 2-1 lead through the doubles action. Senior Steve Schneider and freshman Garrett Morris began the contest with an 8-4 victory at third doubles. The Devils tied the match at 1-1 with a win at second doubles while the Blue & Grey tandem of juniors Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer recorded an 8-7 (7-3) triumph at first doubles to give the Hounds the lead back heading to singles play
- Marshall opened up the singles action with a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles while Pimentel Ferrer pushed the Greyhounds' edge to 4-1 with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at third singles. Sophomore Shayaan Farhad dropped his opening set at first singles before rallying for a 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) triumph to clinch the winning team point for Moravian. Freshman Gavin Labbadia extended the lead to 6-1 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles while sophomore Ryan Burke posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at fifth singles. Sophomore Matt Labosky finished off the contest with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at sixth singles
