BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis squad began its 2023-24 season with a 9-0 sweep at Muhlenberg College in non-conference action Tuesday. 

How It Happened

• The Hounds took all three doubles matches with the tandem of senior Emily Masters and freshman Sydney Shifman starting the contest with an 8-1 win at third doubles. Freshmen Ali Bender and Leah Zolotareva combined for an 8-3 triumph at first doubles while senior Mara Stapleton and sophomore Izzy Szmodis posted an 8-4 victory at second doubles
• Shifman was first off the courts in singles action with a 6-1, 6-0 win at fourth singles while Bender earned the winning team point with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at third singles. Senior Gabby Martin earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory at sixth singles while Szmodis recorded a 6-2, 6-2 win at second singles. Zolotareva registered a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at first singles while Stapleton finished the contest with a 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) victory at fifth singles
