Rebecca May joined the Moravian University staff as Associate Director of Athletics and the Fitness Center Director in September 2018. May returned to Moravian after spending the last seven years at Union County College in New Jersey as the Assistant Dean of College Life.

As the Associate Director of Athletics, May oversees compliance, athletic facility’s usage and maintenance, and serves as the Senior Woman Administrator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator. She works closely with Director of Athletics and Recreation Mary Beth Spirk to advance the Department of Athletics and Recreation.  

Prior to working at Moravian, May was the Assistant Dean of College Life at Union County College. She was an intrical part of the expansion of the athletic department that grew from 6 to 14 varsity sports within 6 years. The student-athletes' success at Union were tremendous with the retention, graduation rates, and athlete GPAs all increasing year after year. May also took full leadership on the marketing and promotion of the athletic department as she designed and managed the department's website and social media outlets along with the Hall of Fame and College Life Awards ceremonies. 

May also took leadership roles throughout the NJCAA as serving on the Executive Board of the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) and an active member of the NJCAA Region XIX. May is also currently participating in the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute.

Prior to her time at Union County College, May previously worked at Moravian from 2005 through 2010 in several roles including the intern of the Blue & Grey Club, Assistant Field Hockey Coach, and Assistant Director of the Moravian Fund for Athletics. 

A 2005 graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Movement Sport and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health and Nutrition as well as a degree in Elementary Education. She completed her Master’s of Science degree in Sport Management, Intercollegiate Athletic Administration in August 2014 from California University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Joshua, have two sons, Maximus and Myles.
