2023 Season – 1st Season at Moravian – 4-6 (3-3), t-4th Landmark

  • Most program wins since 2019 season
  • A total of 8 Greyhounds were named to the Inaugural All-Landmark Team (5 first team, 2 second team, 1 honorable mention)
  • QB Jared Jenkins broke single season school records for: Completion Percentage (64%), Completions (244), and Touchdown passes (26); Led Landmark Conference in Touchdowns, Passing Yards, and Passing yards per game 
  • WR Jordan Bingham broke single season record for: Receptions (69) and led the Landmark Conference in receiving yards per game (92.2) and receptions per game (7.7)
  • Helped RB Nate Boyle finish 7th all-time with 2,317 career rushing yards and 3rd all-time in rushing yards per game (83.8) in Moravian History
  • Selected to the AFCA 35 Under 35 Coaching Leadership Program

Prior to becoming the head football coach for Moravian, Jeff Long spent three years as the Defensive line coach and three years as the Defensive Coordinator at John Carroll University with a 39-12 record, one NCAA playoff berth, five top 25 finished, 6-0 in the Cuyahoga Gold Bowl.

2017-2022 Accomplishments: 

  • 2017-2022 – No program in College Football (FBS, FCS, DII, DIII or NAIA) had more sacks per game than John Carroll (3.53 sacks per game over 6-year span)

  • 2022 Defensive Rankings: Total Defense – 253.2 ypg (20th in Div. III); Scoring Defense – 13.1 ppg (19th in Div. III); Rushing Defense – 69.1 ypg (16th in Div. III); 4th Down Defense - .188% (4th in Div. III); Team Sacks – 32/3.2 pg (18th in Div. III); Team TFLs – 83/8.3 pg (13th in Div. III); Defensive TDs – 3 (T-20th in Div. III); 5 All-OAC Selections; Finalist for OAC Assistant Coach of the Year (2021,2022)

Prior to John Carroll, Long served as the Defensive Line coach at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania for the 2015-16 seasons. Also in 2015, Long worked as a scouting intern for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Before Long made his college coaching debut, he worked as an assistant high school football coach. In the 2014 season, Long coached at Absegami High School in New Jersey. He worked directly with the offensive and defensive line. He also served as the Special Teams Coordinator. 

In 2013, Long served as an assistant coach at Emmaus High School in Pennsylvania.

Long played collegiate football at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania while earning his bachelor’s degree in history in 2014.
