Josh Baltz '08 joined Moravian as its head equipment manager in December 2014, and was promoted to head Softball Coach in June 2022 after serving as an assistant for six seasons.

In his first season as head coach, Baltz led the program to the NCAA DIII Tournament with a record of 38-12 (10-2 Landmark) and finished ranked #6 in the country at the Division III level in the NFCA DIII Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Baltz returned to his alma mater after spending five years working at Muhlenberg College as an assistant baseball coach and an assistant equipment manager.

During his undergraduate career, Baltz lettered on Moravian’s baseball team for three years before missing his senior campaign due to an injury. Despite only playing three seasons, Baltz collected 104 hits, the 13th player at the time to reach the milestone, and he completed his career tied for eighth in the Moravian record books with a .416 career on-base percentage. Baltz, an outfielder, was named to the Commonwealth All-Conference Second Team after his sophomore season in 2006 in which he set a then school-record with 137 at-bats.
