Moravian Drops First Game of the Season

The Moravian College women's soccer (3-1-1) team fell to Misericordia University (2-2-1), 3-0, Saturday afternoon. Junior defender Eileen Black managed to get six shots for the Greyhounds.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead when junior Laura Roney scored the first goal of the game. Moravian would keep the deficit at 1-0 going into the half.

Less than two minutes into the second half Misericordia would increase the lead to 2-0 as freshman Erin McGreal would net her first goal of the season. The Cougars would add one more goal by sophomore Alyssa Mocion. That would be the final score as the Greyhounds couldn't find the back of the net all game.

The Cougars held every advantage over Moravian, shots (19-17) and corner kicks (11-7).
The Greyhounds start a four game road-trip on Monday, September 19, when they travel to Lebanon Valley College in non-conference action. The contest is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Moravian returns home on Saturday, October 1, when they host conference foe Drew University. The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
