MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Senior defensive lineman Allen Petros (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty HS) of the Moravian College football team has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week Presented by Scoutware for his performance in the Greyhounds' 24-12 win at Dickinson College last Saturday.
Petros, who was also honored as the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, helped Moravian to its first win of the season and the first win for new head coach Jeff Pukszyn in by spending a majority of the afternoon in the Red Devils backfield. Petros had nine tackles, seven solo, to go with two and a half tackles for loss of 12 yards, one sack for loss of ten yards and a forced fumble. He was also near the Dickinson quarterbacks on all four of Moravian's interceptions in the game. Petros, pictured at left, extended his school career record to 50 career tackles for loss, and he is third with 23.5 sacks in his career.
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 1 when the squad hosts Ursinus College in a Centennial Conference game at Rocco Calvo Field. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. on Take a Kid to the Game Day.
