INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian College football team has five players ranked in the top 100 in this week's NCAA Division III statistics, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in three team categories.
Senior defensive back Travis King (Wilmington, Del./Concord HS) is tied for 36th in forced fumble at 0.50 per game, and he is also tied for 60th in punt returns at 8.00 yards per return. Senior punter Tyler Thompson (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin HS) is 60th in punting at 37.72 yards per punt while freshman linebacker Brendan Downey (Hawley, Pa./Wallenpaupack HS) is tied for 61st in tackles at 10.5 per game.
Sophomore defensive back Rick Sinnig (Hillsdale, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS) is tied for 90th in the country in interceptions with an average of 0.50 per game while sophomore defensive lineman Andrew Richmond (Matawan, N.J./Matawan HS) is tied for 36th in fumbles recovered with 0.50 per contest.
The Greyhounds tied for 35th in NCAA Division III in turnover margin with a +1.5 after forcing 11 turnovers and only committing five miscues so far this season. The squad is tied for 30th in fourth down conversions at 66.7 percent (four-for-six), and Moravian is 50th in net punting with a net average of 34.69 yards per punt attempt including return yardage.
Moravian will return to action on Saturday, September 29th in a Centennial Conference game at Ursinus College kicking off at 12:00 p.m. in Collegeville.
