Four Football Players Ranked in Latest NCAA Stats

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Four Moravian College football players are ranked in the latest NCAA Division III Statistics released Monday.

Sophomore defensive lineman Andrew Richmond is tied for 16th in fumbles recovered with 0.50 per contest. Richmond has 14 tackles this fall to go with his 2.5 tackles for a loss, two fumble recoveries and 1.5 sacks.

Senior defensive back Travis King is tied for 72nd in punt returns at 8.00 yards per return. King is third on the team with 214 all-purpose yards to go with his 12 tackles, two forced fumbles, one pass break-up, one tackle for a loss and one interception that he returned for a touchdown.

Senior punter Tyler Thompson is 66th in the nation in punting at 37.49 yards per punt. Thompson has punted 39 times for 1,462 yards while putting nine inside the twenty yard line.

Freshman linebacker Brendan Downey is tied for 91st in the country with 9.6 tackles per game. Downey leads the Greyhounds with 48 tackles to go with his 2.5 tackles for a loss, one interception, one forced fumble and one pass break-up.

As a team, Moravian ranks 40th in NCAA Division III in turnover margin with a +1.0 after forcing 11 turnovers and only committing six miscues so far this season.

The Greyhounds return to the grid iron on Saturday, October 13th as they host Centennial Conference rival Susquehanna University. It's homecoming at Moravian as the game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
