Greyhounds Finish Fall with 4th Place at Alvernia Invitational

MOHNTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team finished off the fall portion of its 2016-17 season with a fourth place finish at the Alvernia University Invitational played at the Ledgerock Golf Club Tuesday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 334, finishing 10 strokes behind Cabrini University and Lebanon Valley College.

Junior Tyler Smith led the Blue and Grey with a five-over par round of 77 that included a pair of birdies and 10 pars as he finished in a tie for third place among the 49 golfers. Senior Dan Leppert was tied for 13th with a round of 82 that included a birdie and nine pars while sophomore Kody Long finished in a tie for 22nd with an 86 including a birdie and 11 pars. Junior Matt Miksiewicz and sophomore Joe Rochelle both had rounds of 89 to finish tied for 33rd. Miksiewicz carded a birdie and four pars while Rochelle added nine pars.

Moravian will return to action in late March when the squad resumes the spring portion of its schedule to prepare for the final two rounds of the 2016-17 Empire 8 Conference Championships on April 14-15 at the Hershey Country Club.
