ANNVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse team made its first-ever postseason appearance in the 2016 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Tournament First Round Wednesday with the sixth seeded Hounds falling to third seed and host Lebanon Valley College, 10-6.

The Greyhounds finish their first varsity season since 2010 with a 10-6 overall mark, the first 10-win campaign in program history. Moravian previously had men's lacrosse from 2004 through 2010 before the sport moved to club sport for the past five years.

Freshman attack Mark Laratta led the Blue and Grey with three goals to raise his single season school record to 42 goals for the year. Senior midfielder Dave Fiumara and freshmen midfielders Alec Oriolo and Christopher Klodowski each netted one goal while freshmen attacks Jack Gozzard and James Carroll both had assists.

Moravian freshman goalie Kurt Dick tied his season high with 18 saves in the match to finish the year with 174 saves, the seventh best season in school history, and he also had four ground balls. Freshman midfielder Hayden DuPont had a team-high six ground balls and five face-off wins while Laratta added four ground balls. Carroll and freshman defender Brian Biase each scooped up three ground balls while junior defender Ed Delia caused three turnovers.

The Flying Dutchmen opened the scoring with three straight goals before Oriolo got Moravian on the scoreboard with a man-up goal with 1:09 left in the first quarter to cut the deficit to 3-1 after 15 minutes of action. Lebanon Valley scored the only three goals of the second half to head into halftime with a 6-1 advantage.

Laratta scored two goals to open the third quarter including a man-up goal to cut the deficit to 6-3. Klodowski netted his goal early in the fourth period before Laratta and Fiumara scored in the final 1:11 to set the final score.
