Greyhounds Top Alvernia, 8-1, in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team posted an 8-1 non-conference win over Alvernia University at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando Tuesday.

The Greyhounds, now 4-2 on the season, swept the doubles action to build a 3-0 lead. Juniors Brittney Eady and Roberta Scantlebury were the first off the court with an 8-0 win at first doubles. Sophomore Skylar Oliwa and junior Aisling Doyle had an 8-3 triumph at third doubles before senior Courtnie Lambert and sophomore Caitlin Adams finished the sweep with an 8-5 victory at second doubles.

Moravian then won five of the six singles matches to seal the match. Eady was first off the court once again with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at first singles before sophomore Grace Bailly had the clinching win at sixth singles with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph. Lambert then had a 6-2, 6-3 win at third singles while Adams recorded a 6-3, 6-3 victory at fourth singles. Doyle finished off the match with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 win at fifth singles for the Blue and Grey.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to finish their Spring Break trip to the Orlando area with a non-conference match versus Messiah College on Wednesday, March 8 starting at 8:00 a.m.
