CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team fell to host DeSales University, 3-0, in non-conference action Wednesday evening.
How It Happened
- The opening set went back-and-forth until the Greyhounds slowly opened a 14-7 advantage. The Hounds held a 23-20 edge in the set, and the squads pushed beyond 25 points with the Bulldogs eventually winning, 29-27
- The Blue & Grey also had an early 9-4 edge in the second set before DeSales responded and moved ahead 10-9. The Hounds countered by scoring five straight points to move back in front, 17-14, and Moravian led 24-21 before the Bulldogs posted the final five points for a 26-24 set win and a 2-0 lead overall
- The third set was back-and-forth until a 5-0 run from DeSales gave the Bulldogs a 16-9 edge on the way to a 25-15 set victory to clinch the match
Inside the Numbers
- Graduate student outside hitter Kat Wilt led Moravian with nine kills to go with seven digs while freshman outside hitter Gabbie Reigner recorded six kills and eight digs
- Junior outside hitter Jenna Deegan posted five kills and three digs while senior middle blocker Autumn Marrero, junior right side hitter Makenzie Krasley and freshman middle blocker Payton Reuber all had three kills with Marrero and Reuber each recording three blocks
- Sophomore setter Ally Plitnick posted 10 assists, four digs and a pair of blocks while freshman setter Molly Hughes had nine assists and seven digs
- Senior defensive specialists Emily Szy and Kat DeYesso both had a team-high 13 digs with Szy contributing a pair of service aces. Freshman defensive specialist Sam Love added seven digs
