LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team fell to host Lancaster Bible College, 3-1, in non-conference action Friday evening.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds had an early 4-1 lead in the opening set, and the Blue & Grey led by as many as five points with a 19-14 edge. The Chargers scored six straight points to take the lead before the Hounds responded for a 23-21 advantage. Lancaster Bible scored the final four points to take the set 25-23
- Moravian started quick in the second game, leading 7-1. The Greyhounds held the advantage the entire set and posted a 25-19 win to even the match at 1-1
- The Hounds also had a 6-1 edge to start the third set. The Chargers came back and tied the game at 7-7. The Blue & Grey also tied the set again at 10-10, however, Lancaster Bible ran off the next 10 points on the way to a 25-15 set win to go ahead 2-1
- The Chargers raced out to a 6-1 lead to start the fourth set, and Lancaster Bible captured the game 25-16 to finish the match
Inside the Numbers
- Junior outside hitter Jenna Deegan led the Greyhounds with 12 kills, three digs and a pair of blocks while freshman middle blocker Payton Reuber added 10 kills
- Freshman outside hitter Gabbie Reigner contributed five kills and a team-high 18 digs while sophomore outside hitter Caroline Melillo had five kills and four digs senior middle blocker Autumn Marrero added five kills and a pair of blocks
- Freshman setter Molly Hughes led the Hounds with 24 assists to go with four digs while junior setter Emily Solomon added 13 assists and three digs
- Freshman defensive specialist Sam Love recorded 13 digs while senior defensive specialist Emily Szy contributed eight digs
- Senior defensive specialist Allie Ludlow finished with seven digs while senior defensive specialist Kat DeYesso posted six digs
