Women's Cross Country Finished 9th at Leopard Invitational

The Moravian College women's cross country teams competed at the Leopard Invitational at Lafayette College Saturday afternoon. The women's team finished ninth out of 12 teams.

On the women's side senior Cadee Rockwell was the top finisher, placing in fourth place out of 108 runners. She ran a 22:04.7. Freshman Claire DelCasale was the second Greyhound to cross the finish line with a time of 23:12.4 as she finished in 31st place. Senior Kristina Ruggiero was right behind her in 41st place and she ran a time of 23:25.3.

Freshmen Emily Lambright and Jessie Goldberg finished back-to-back in 65th (24:31.6) and 66th place (24:32.9), respectively. Classmate Devon Bedell took 71st place while running 24:45.9. Senior Megan Hallowell finished in 77th place with a time of 25:18.9.

Sophomore Jen Parodi ran a 25:42.2, good for 83rd place. Freshman Alyssa Tallon finished 100th with a time of 27:41.7. Sophomore Amanda Smilgis ran a 27:44.8 and finishing in 102nd place.

The Greyhounds run again on Saturday, October 29 as Moravian will host the 2011 Landmark Conference Championship. The race is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
