Cross Country Teams Ranked Regionally

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Moravian College men and women's cross country teams are ranked #10 in the Mideast Region in the latest regional rankings released on October 17th. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association release these rankings weekly.

The men and women's squad most recently raced at the Lafayette College Leopard Invitational. The men finished fifth and were the top Division III team at the event. The women finished in ninth place.

The men are led by senior Matthew Lutzca (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley HS), who has the second fastest time in the 8K in the Landmark Conference, running a 25:57. He has the top time in the Conference in the 6K with an 18:59.3. Lutzca has also been awarded the Conference Athlete of the Week twice this year.

The women are led by senior Cadee Rockwell (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson West Lawn HS), who has the top time in the 6K in the Landmark Conference at 22:04.70. Her time is more than one minute faster than the next fastest runner. She has the top time in the 4K as well with a 15:18. Rockwell has been named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week for four straight weeks now, including this week.

The Greyhounds run again on October 29th when they host the Landmark Conference Championship. The race is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Lehigh University Goodman Campus.
