Men's Cross Country is Top DIII Finisher at Leopard Invitational

The Moravian College men and cross country teams competed at the Leopard Invitational at Lafayette College Saturday afternoon. The men's squad finished fifth out of 12 teams and was the top Division III school finisher.

Senior Matthew Lutcza was the top finisher for the Greyhounds, running a 26:38.5 and placing in ninth of 111 runners. Junior Donnie Noble placed in 20th with a time of 27:13, and freshman Alec Duncan, pictured, took 37th place with a time of 27:50.9. Junior Dylan Marton was only five seconds behind Duncan with a time of 27:55.6 and he finished in 41st place.

Junior Jake Donchez took 71st place with a time of 29:03. Freshman Corey Schauerman ran a 30:25.7 which was good for 90th place. Classmate Eddie Garcia took 97th place, running a 31:16.8.

The Greyhounds run again on Saturday, October 29 as Moravian will host the 2011 Landmark Conference Championship. The race is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
