Moravian to Host Ursinus on October 3 to Close Out 1st Half of 2015 Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College football team closes out the first half of the its 2015 season on Saturday, October 3 when the Greyhounds host Ursinus College. Kickoff for the Hounds' annual Take a Kid to a Game day is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.

Moravian is 3-1 on the season after a 55-38 win at Dickinson College last week, and the Greyhounds are looking to go to 4-1 for the first time since 2008. Junior running back Chris Negron was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after setting the conference record and tying the Moravian mark with six touchdowns in the game last week, a feat that had not been accomplished by a Greyhound since 1939. Negron also moved into third in school history with 221 yards to push his career total to 2,440 yards in 24 games.

Sophomore running back Eli Redmond was honored as the Co-Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after returning the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown. He also had a 21-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown last Saturday.

The Moravian defense played a big role in last week's win with four turnovers which the offense turned into 21 points. The Hounds' defense also record eight sacks in the game for the first time since a nine-sack game agains Delaware Valley College in 2001.
